In an effort to make the directory more user friendly, this year's directory was released in four different forms. The difference in the directories is sort order. Based upon your needs you may look up a mill by name, by species utilized, by mill type, or by county.
Every effort has been made to include all wood processors operating in Arkansas in this directory. If your wood processing company is not listed, or the information is incorrect, please use either the AFC comment section on our home page, or contact the AFC at 501-296-1940. It is not our intention to leave any wood processing company out of this directory.

Definitions
Processor Type — Industries are classified as either primary or secondary processors. "P" indicates a primary processor which processes logs predominately. "S" indicates a secondary processor which is involved in a value added process.
Capacity — Capacity, defined as the maximum amount of wood that can be processed at a given facility, is given for each processor. Note that capacity is based on Doyle Log Scale or board feet lumber tally.
Capacity Categories
- A = less than 1 MMBF
- B = 1 - 2.9 MMBF
- C = 3 - 4.9 MMBF
- D = 5 - 9.9 MMBF
- E = 10 - 14.9 MMBF
- F = 15 - 20 MMBF
- G = over 20 MMBF

Severance Tax
Arkansas Code Annotated §26-58-101
Assessment is collected from either the producer or purchaser of natural resources and from each producer (Primary Processor) of timber in the State of Arkansas at the time of severance.
- Pine Timber - 17.8 cents per ton
- All other Timber - 12.5 cents per ton.
