Rural Fire Protection

 Rural Fire Protection
The Rural Fire Protection of the Arkansas Forestry Commission, established in 1979, is designed to help communities organize, equip, and train volunteer fire departments. Information provided in this section is a guide to assistance available through the Rural Fire Protection Program.
Rural Fire Protection - Monthly Information Sheet
The monthly information sheet supplements the procedures and information manual. The monthly sheet describes current programs, lists scheduled  training, and describes equipment currently  available through the AFC Rural Fire Program.

Volunteer Fire Assistance Grants
Volunteer Fire assistance grants are usually available in May or June every year to fire departments that serve 10,000 or fewer people. Eligible departments must match the grant on a 50-50 basis with non-federal funds. To apply for a grant, contact the AFC District office in your area.
